Coming into Saturday’s fixture against Campion AFC, Ilkley Town have won 3 and lost 3 out of their last 6 games, which means they have picked up 9 points out of a possible 21. Although the home side have lost their last 3 matches, they have all been by no more than one goal on each occasion, writes Evan Seaman.
Overall, Ilkley are currently 16th in the league table, just one place and two points above the relegation zone, so will be hoping to put distance between themselves and the drop to survive at this level for the first time in the club’s history.
Ilkley’s key man could be prolific striker Kevin Gonzalez who has scored 18 goals in 20 games this campaign, and his form could be important come the end of the season.
Whereas for Campion, they have struggled to pick up points lately, only managing one win and one draw in their last six games which means they could drop to as low as 16th in the league if Ilkley beat them this weekend.
However, Ilkley will still need to watch out for Campion’s top goal scorer Daniel Keane, who is on 14 goals.
As for team news for Ilkley, Alfie Heaton has had successful surgery and will be out for the rest of the season. Joe Garside, Tom Fleming and Matt Whitehead are still out long term. New signing Oliver Reape will be in the squad and could possibly make his home debut.
