Senior Season Starts this Weekend

Ilkley Town AFC’s men kick off the 2026/27 season with a home match against Wombwell Town this weekend, kick off 3pm.

With no goals conceded in their pre-season campaign, a string of strong signings, and Manager Jacob Mistry’s first full cycle in charge, the Baht’atters are heading into the new season confident and ready to perform.

Manager Mistry, who rebuilt Ilkley’s Firsts following a tumultuous start to last season on and off the pitch, said:

“We’ve signed some very exciting players, better balanced the squad, and can confidently say the group is full of the right characters with the potential to achieve great things. Pre-season has gone well and we look to be playing with confidence.

“The summer has been a massive one for us as a club. We have had the first real chance to put our mark on the team, not only on the pitch but off it too. We came in last November and had to just keep the lights on. We did that, and more, but now our journey truly starts. 

“We are looking to massively boost the fan experience for match goers and are working hard to repay efforts gone into us by being present with our amazing junior section and our community.

“Getting down to a matchday makes a genuine difference to the players, so please try and get down to a game this season. We hope to put on a show for you and ensure you want to come back!”

The Wombwell match is at 3pm this Saturday (25 July) at the MPM Stadium at Ben Rhydding Sports Club. Entry is FREE for club members and coaches, £6 general entry and £4 concessions. Gates open from 2pm.
